Welcome

I am a Professor of Computer Science at the University of New Orleans, where I direct the Bioinformatics & Machine Learning Laboratory (BMLL). My research integrates bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing to address critical challenges in computational biology and environmental resilience.

In the biomedical domain, my group develops AI-enhanced frameworks for protein structure and disorder prediction, protein dynamics, and intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), with the broader goal of advancing molecular understanding and therapeutic discovery.

On the environmental side, we are pioneering AI-driven levee and culvert monitoring and flood prediction systems by fusing satellite remote sensing, drone data, and digital twins for disaster preparedness and climate resilience.

Our lab also emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and workforce development, training students in cutting-edge computational methods that bridge biology, machine learning, and large-scale simulation.
